Nick Matthew, arguably England's most successful male player ever is most proud of being the oldest first time world number one, aged 30. At the time, Nick said:

It shows that if you have the dedication and willingness, get good advice along the way, put yourself in a good environment, have that drive and determination within you, then you can achieve anything if you set your mind to it.

Not having the best junior career, Nick was incredibly focused in his goal to reach the top in our sport - hopefully he can inspire our Berkshire Juniors too. But most importantly, you have to love the game, otherwise you will not fulfil your potential.
